Runners and walkers divided into three categories for men, women and teenagers completed a 5 kilometre race. This year’s event raised over 1 billion VND (43,000 USD) for charitable activities.

According to the organising board, over the past 17 years, the BBGV has raised about 10 VND for charitable activities in Vietnam. The events attracted more than 100,000 people.

In 2017, the Fund Run for Charity in HCM City drew 10,000 participants, raising nearly 1 billion VND.

With funding, the programme provided the Saigon Children charitable organization with 12 scholarships worth 100 million VND to help needy students. 

It also provided scholarships worth over 170 million VND for 112 female students in the difficult background in southern Hau Giang province, while assisting 270 million VND to build a kindergarten in Da Bop village in northern Dien Bien province, and cooperating with Loerto organisation to upgrade toilets in A Phu Hoi primary school in southern An Giang.

1,500 athletes competes in 45th Ha Noi Moi Newspaper Run

Around 1,500 athletes from 20 cities and provinces, including 280 foreign runners from 26 embassies, competed in the 45th Ha Noi Moi (New Hanoi) Newspaper Run, scheduled to start at Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi on September 30.

 

Over 3,100 runners compete in Sa Pa int’l mountain marathon

The annual Sa Pa international mountain marathon 2018, the sixth of its kind, took place in Sa Pa district, the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai on September 21-23, as part of the Sa Pa autumn festival 2018. 

 

3,400 runners to compete in sixth Vietnam Mountain Marathon

Some 3,400 runners from around the world will compete in the Vietnam Mountain Marathon which is about to return to Sa Pa, Lao Cai this September.
