The VF9 has two versions, the Eco and the Plus, both equipped with an electric motor with a capacity of 300 kW (402 HP).

According to the VinFast announcement, the Eco model has a range of 438 kilometers and the Plus model has a range of 423 kilometers.

The selling price of the two versions, including battery, is VND1.97 billion ($83,474) and VND2.178 billion ($92,288) respectively.

After VF9 deliveries began on March 27, VinFast will begin in April to deliver 1,800 VF8 models to overseas markets and VF5 models to local customers.

VinFast, which began operations in 2019, is gearing up to expand in the United States, where it hopes to compete with legacy automakers with its two electric SUV models.

"After delivering the cars in Vietnam, VinFast expects to export the first batch of VF9 cars to international markets in the coming months," VinFast said in a statement, without providing a specific timeline for deliveries of the new model.

VinFast, backed by Vietnam’s biggest conglomerate, Vingroup, is the country’s sole electric vehicle maker.
