The ministry has asked functional agencies to hold activities in response to the Vietnam Book Day from central to local levels in order to bring books closer to the public.

The Vietnam Book Day will kick off on April 18 in Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, featuring an assortment of activities including exchanges between readers and authors, seminars, book introductions, and events to promote reading culture and digitalisation in the publishing industry.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc issued Decision No.284/QD-TTg on February 24, 2014, designating April 21 as Vietnam Book Day in order to encourage reading culture among the public.
