Nearly 300 prizes presented at Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2021

Nearly 300 prizes were presented at the award ceremony of the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2021, held in Hanoi on November 10 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The ‘Outstanding Reading Culture Ambassador’ titles went to Do Vy Lam, a sixth grader at Dien Bien Secondary School in Thanh Hoa province; Bach Hai Hanh, a 11th grader at Hung Vuong High School in Phu Tho province; and Nguyen Minh Phuong, a student at the Vietnam National University of Agriculture.

A total of eight first, 10 second, 52 third and 200 consolation prizes were awarded to other excellent entrants at the ceremony. The organising board also presented prizes to units and collectives with the largest number of entrants and winning entries.

The contest was launched in February this year with the aim of stirring an enthusiasm for reading among the younger generation, promoting a healthy reading culture at schools and in the community.

It attracted the participation of more than 870,000 students from nearly 690 schools, colleges, and universities across the country.

According to the organising board, contestants presented many interesting ideas to encourage people to read more as well as ways to develop reading plans for themselves.

Many contestants showed a careful investment not only in the content of their entries but also in their design and presentation with various submissions beautifully and creatively decorated.
