New Year holiday: Bac Giang tourist destinations draw visitors from other localities
Ecotourism - interesting experience
At local tourist destinations, the majority of tourists travelled in family groups. There was also many young people and students. During the three-day holiday, Bau Tien eco-tourism site of the Dong Dao Tourism Cooperative in Dong Dao village, Quy Son commune, Luc Ngan district welcomed nearly 4,00 visitors, of which more than 70% were tourists from neighbouring provinces and cities such as Lang Son, Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong and Quang Ninh. Every day about 200 people stayed overnight here.

Most visitors felt excited when engaging in sports activities such as kayaking, cycling, pet caring, and fishing. Especially, they visited orange and grapefruit orchards laden with fragrant yellow fruits, made Banh Chung (square glutinous sticky rice cake) and enjoyed ethnic minority dishes in a stilt house.
On this occasion it was estimated that Ban Ven Xanh community tourist site in Xuan Luong commune, Yen The district greeted 700-800 tourists from inside and outside the province each day.
Ngo Cao Kien, Director of the Ban Ven Xanh Community Tourism Development Joint Stock Company, said: "The number of visitors during the holiday increased by 150-200 people per day compared to previous weekends, with 20% booking meals and lodging services through its hotline and Facebook fanpage before arriving. Each group usually comprised 10-20 people, and about 60% of them were visitors from other localities."
Along with eco-tourism and community-based tourism areas, a number of entertainment spots in Bac Giang city also attracted a large number of visitors. For example, Rose Garden film studio in Da Mai commune lured about 2,000 visitors to take photos and organize year-end parties. Every day, the Wedding Land Amusement Park in Song Mai commune welcomed more than 200 visitors, while the Hoang Hoa Tham Park in Hoang Van Thu ward was also a popular destination among young people.
Improving facilities and service quality
To better serve the needs of visitors on this occasion, many tourism businesses had invested in additional entertainment items and facilities.

Hoang Van Hiep, Director of the Dong Dao Tourism Cooperative said: "The cooperative invested more than 2 billion VND (82,186 USD) to buy five electric cars to take tourists to orchards in the area. The cooperative also arranged areas showing products for the Lunar New Year in the past and at present; purchased all kinds of toys; raised animals such as rabbits, sheep, ostriches; and added tourism products such as noodle making, San Chi folk song exchange, and Then singing to bring new experiences to tourists."
Anticipating the increasing number of tourists during the New Year holiday, the Ban Ven Xanh Community Tourism Development Joint Stock Company recruited 20 more seasonal workers for reception, catering, cleaning, ticket checking and car keeping services. The unit arranged nearly 200 additional tents, tarpaulins, tables and chairs to serve tourists and organized diverse activities such as displaying highland cuisine and organising the New Year festival of Cao Lan ethnic people, folk games, and folk dancing exchanges.
According to Do Tuan Khoa, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the department directed the management boards of tourist areas and sites, and tourism service providers in the province to prepare plans to organize activities during the New Year holiday, ensuring quality, joyful atmosphere and safety for tourists.
In addition, the People's Committees of districts and Bac Giang city directed stepping up communications work to help people, businesses, business households, and tourists raise awareness of and strictly comply with regulations on disease prevention and control, environmental sanitation, food safety, and traffic safety.
