With more than 50 booths, nearly 100 businesses are showcasing special spices that have won the favour of both domestic and foreign customers.

The festival is intended to raise contributions of spices to Vietnam’s agriculture-based economy and the national economy in general, and promote trade for local spices, said Ly Kim Chi, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Food and Foodstuff Association.

Within the framework of the festival, a Vietnamese spice map made debut, popularising spice products granted with the geographical indication and those that satisfy the One Commune One Product (OCOP) standards.

Le Huynh Minh Tu, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Industry and Trade, said the move has also created momentum for businesses in the industry to develop sustainably, and helped improve public awareness and knowledge about domestic farm produce and spices.

The department always creates optimal conditions for enterprises to seek new materials, processing methods and markets, thus contributing to progress of Vietnam’s agriculture as well as its agriculture-based economy, he affirmed.

Tan Yen to build 3 high-tech Deng Shen production models

(BGO)- According to the people’s committee of Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province, in line with expanding the growing area of Sam Nam Nui Danh (Danh Mountain’s radix codonopsis javanicae or Dang Shen) on mixed gardens, hills and highlands at total 21 hectares, this year the district will support to build 3 Dang Shen production models applying high technologies at the scale from 1 hectare in close production chains.

With the agreement of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the Ministry of National Defence, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, coordinated with Military Hospital 175 and the Southern Vietnam Helicopter Company to organise a survey flight to develop the "Viewing Ho Chi Minh City from above" tourism product by helicopter, on April 12.

Yen The diversifies livestock, improves product value

(BGO) - The livestock herd of Yen The district (Bac Giang province) is quite diverse. In addition to the famous hill chicken, there are goat, deer and bee. In order to effectively tap the potential and advantages of natural conditions, the authorities and relevant agencies continue to encourage the development of animal husbandry and increase the value of products.  

Production value of FDI sector increases 33.8 percent year on year

(BGO) - The production value in Bac Giang province hit nearly 61 trillion VND (2.66 billion USD) in the first quarter of this year, up over 31 percent year on year.
