To date, the national standards for vocational skills have been established for 199 trades. In the past year, more than 11,000 workers have been evaluated in accordance with these standards.
The scope of the upcoming national skills competition will be expanded to include all students and workers aged 15-60, compared to the previous limit of 25 years old.
The competition will also see changes in its format, with 21 skills to take place physically while 11 will be held virtually due to Covid-19 restrictions.
The online format will be an opportunity to promote the application of digital technology in vocational education and skill development.
The contest is scheduled to take place in Hanoi and the provinces of Thai Nguyen, Thai Binh, Quang Ninh and Vinh Long in early December this year.
More than 520 contestants for 52 delegations have registered for the competition so far.
Recently Vietnamese contestants won gold two medals at the Asia-Pacific Online Mechatronic Skills Competition.
