Over 972,000 USD invested to restore and embellish Y Son temple relics in Hiep Hoa

BAC GIANG – The Y Son temple relics in Hoa Son commune, Hiep Hoa district (Bac Giang province) has been restored and embellished. The restoring project started in January 2022 with total cost of more than 22.8 billion VND (over 972,000 USD) by Vietnamese Cultural and Architectural Heritage Conservation Joint Stock Company.

Y Son Temple was built during the Le dynasty on the foot of Ia mountain to worship Saint Hung Linh Cong who defeated An enemy and saved the country.

Y Son Temple is restored and embellished.

Y Son Temple is a traditional architectural work consisting of three arched gate, front altar court with stone elephant and horse, 5 apartment Chung Duong court connecting to the Sanctuary.

The temple is located in the Y Son Cultural Historical Relic complex. The temple was recognized as a national historical and cultural relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information in 1994.

In order to maintain and promote the value of the revolutionary historical relics in the safe zone 2 and restore many degraded items, in January 2022, Y Son Temple was restored and embellished. As soon as the project was completed, the people in Hoa Son commune held a ceremony to process the Saint back to the palace.

As schedule, the temple festival in 2024 will be held on a district scale, featuring several activities such as announcing the project completion, palanquin processions, drum playing, court dancing and incense offering together with traditional wrestling tournaments, Chinese chess, football, volleyball, badminton and folk games.
