Photographer Nguyen Huu Thong wins silver at 2019 Northern Mountainous Artistic Photo Festival
The festival drew 2,041 photos of 289 photographers in 15 provinces in the Northern mountainous localities in which 184 works of 120 photographers were selected by the Jury board for exhibition and award, including 2 gold medals, 4 silver medals, 6 bronze medals and 8 consolidation prizes.

Besides, the team awards were awarded to three provinces of Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai and Lao Cai. Bac Giang province had 28 photos participating in the festival of which 14 photos of 11 photographers were exhibited at the event.
The awarded photographers are members of the Bac Giang provincial Literature and Arts Association. Particularly, Nguyen Huu Thong won silver medal with the photo “Mot thoang Ha Giang (A moment of Ha Giang province)”; Vuong Lam won bronze medal with photo “Tuc moi trau cua nguoi Kinh Bac (Betel offering custom of Kinh Bac people)” and Luu Quang Luong won consolidation prize with photo “Xin chao (Hello)”.

Addressing at the opening ceremony, Chairman of Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists Vu Quoc Khanh expressed: “The Northern mountainous area is the photographers’ golden land with many materials for the artists and photographers to create their artworks. Besides, they will further develop the advantages to create and introduce many good images about the nation, country and the people, helping promote the tourism development in the unique Northern mountainous region with special identity”.

The photos at the festival are focused on exploiting the beauty of the nature, country, and culture of the community in the Northern in order to promote the advantages and potential to develop the tourism.
