Speaking at the event, PM Phuc expressed his pleasure to meet with the Heroic Vietnamese Mothers delegates.

He emphasised that the gathering was an opportunity for the Party, State, soldiers and people around the country to express their gratitude to the Heroic Vietnamese Mothers whose blood relatives sacrificed their lives in the struggle for national independence.

The PM emphasised that the silent pain and sacrifices of the mothers at the rear were also as immense as the fallen soldiers during the resistance wars.

He expressed his emotion at the mothers’ efforts to overcome all difficulties to live happily and encourage their children and grandchildren to study, work and contribute to the homeland’s development.

The Party, State and people vow to continue to take care of both the material and spiritual lives of revolutionary contributors, added the Government leader.

He asked the ministries, agencies, localities, organisations and businesses around the country to join hands to fulfil the mission of care for revolutionary contributors, especially the Heroic Vietnamese Mothers.

Firstly, it is crucial to review and complete policies on national contributors and people joining resistance wars to protect the nation and perform international missions.

Secondly, the relevant agencies should continue to enhance the search, collection and repatriation of the remains of Vietnamese soldiers.

Thirdly, the State budget’s allocation should be increased thanks to the mobilisation and diversification of social resources for the care of revolutionary contributors.

In addition, it is essential to improve the quality of the movements, rear-military policies and gratitude programmes to create favourable conditions for wounded and sick soldiers, fallen soldiers’ families and revolutionary contributors to develop their production and take part in social activities.

Lastly, the Vietnam Fatherland Front committees, political and social organisations and people should uphold their role in the care of revolutionary contributors to timely address issues related to their rights.

After 25 years of implementing an ordinance on preferential treatment for revolutionary contributors, 139,275 Heroic Vietnamese Mothers nationwide have been bestowed and conferred.
