Currently, the hospital is employing 85 medical staff from four hospitals: the provincial General Hospital, the Bac Giang Women’s and Children’s Hospital, the Bac Giang Mental Hospital and the Bac Giang Oncology Hospital, along with the Yen The district Medical Center. These are all doctors and medical staff with experience in treating patients throughout many outbreaks.
Despite accepting treatment for asymptomatic and mild patients, keeping the cases from becoming severe is the constant effort of the medical team. Therefore, doctors and nurses must always closely monitor any signs of symptom change, combined with assessing the condition of each patient, to determine an appropriate treatment method.
Even members of the board of directors such as specialist II Nguyen Nhu Pho, deputy director of the field hospital No. 2, also directly examines and makes prescriptions for patients. Here, all are busy and in a hurry to save and treat Covid-19 patients.
At many times, the hospital received from 50 to 60 patients per day, doctors and nurses all focused on collecting, screening, classifying, deciding on treatment, providing food and accommodation for the patients. From the experience in successfully treating thousands of patients before, the hospital continues to implement the treatment regimen at the request of the Ministry of Health. At the same time, it appoints a team of technicians to prepare diluted saline as daily mouthwash for medical staff and patients to disinfect the nasopharynx, preventing the virus from entering the lower respiratory tract.
In addition, the hospital has also put into use robots to disinfect the wards and corridors, measure patients’ temperature, transport food and medical supplies, reduce work load and help medical staff limit contact with patients to prevent cross-infection.
To facilitate patient care and ensure the health of doctors and medical staff who have to work for a long time, the hospital arranges three continuous working shifts. Finishing their shift, medical workers rest in the ancillary building outside but still in the quarantine area of the field hospital.
Ready to protect people's health
Doctor Nguyen Thi Hao, who is working here, shared: “During 7 months on duty to treat Covid-19 patients, I have witnessed many families having to be separated for isolation and treatment. Some children were also infected with the coronavirus. Although we always work in sweat-soaked protective suits, our faces become red with mask vestiges, we still tell ourselves that each should try a little more so that Covid-19 can soon be repelled."

As of November 14, the hospital had treated 422 patients. According to the evaluation of the hospital's Board of Directors, the infection status during this period is much different from that of May and June 2021. The number of infected patients since October 26 mainly showed mild and asymptomatic symptoms because most of them were vaccinated. Especially there were no critical patients or deaths.
In recent days, a large number of patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospital, which is the motivation for medical staff to continue working. Patients, when admitted to the hospital, brought with them many worries and insecurities, but they were treated and encouraged by dedicated doctors, and quickly recovered and were discharged from the hospital. They are excited to return to their daily lives and always treasure the affection and responsibility of the doctors, who have accompanied them in the most difficult times.
