Quang Nam: Last citizens complete concentrated isolation

Updated: 20:20, 14/09/2020
There are no citizens held in local quarantine camps in Quang Nam to exclude the risk of Covid-19 transmission following the release of the last seven people subjected to concentrated quarantine in the central province on September 13.

The Steering Committee for the Prevention and Control of Covid-19 in Quang Nam announced yesterday that localities across the province discharged the last seven cases who had finished their 14-day quarantine as prescribed, bringing the total number of people completing quarantine in the province to 5,047.

Currently, there are no cases subjected to centralised isolation in the province, with only 14 are under medical isolation at medical facilities and 1,025 others practicing self-medical isolation at home under regulations set by the Ministry of Health.

Director of the Quang Nam Department of Health Nguyen Van Hai said that since July 25, the provincial health sector has taken 90,342 Covid-19 test samples, of which 96 were positive and 90,246 were negative for SARS-CoV-2 – the virus that causes Covid-19.

In the northern province of Hai Duong, the Provincial People's Committee has decided to remove medical isolation from 0:00 on September 14 for three other residential clusters in Hai Duong City and Nam Sach District. The three above mentioned residential areas are all related to the Covid-19 infections detected at a local restaurant on Ngo Quyen Street, Hai Duong City.

On September 13, the Ministry of Transport removed social distancing measures applied on passenger transportation vehicles (bus, taxi, passenger car, train, plane, ship...) departure from Da Nang from 14:00 on September 13.

The ministry required the concerned units to well implement Covid-19 preventive measures set by the health ministry, while closely supervising the implementation of such measures on public transport means, in addition to asking vehicles to disinfect surfaces before and immediately after the end of each trip.

On September 12 and 13, teachers from all middle and high schools in Da Nang City carried out measures to clean the environment both inside and outside schools and classrooms in preparation for welcoming their students back on September 14.

Da Nang schools have fully prepared disinfectant solutions, temperature meters and other necessities to ensure students’ safety when they are back to normal studying in schools amid the strict implementation of Covid-19 prevention and control measures. School staff will contact students’ parents to remind them to comply with anti-epidemic measures when coming back to their class.

Students from grade 6 to 12 in Da Nang will return to school this morning following a week of studying online due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic. Local preschool children, elementary and primary school students in multi-level high schools, as well as their peers in foreign language training institutions and other extra classes will be back to their class from September 21.

Non-public universities in the central city have been asked to comply with the direction of the managing agencies and must allow students to return to school from September 14 onwards.
