Red Journey drive receives over 85,000 units of blood

The Red Journey blood donation campaign 2019 has received over 85,000 units of blood via 265 locations, the organising board told a conference reviewing its result in Hanoi on July 27.

Dr. Ngo Manh Quan from the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion said the drive attracted many donors, especially those from Kien Giang, Lam Dong, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Bac Ninh, Lang Son and Hai Duong.
In particular, it also reached poor and ethnic minority regions.
Over the past seven years, 50 out of 63 cities and provinces have joined the event.
Nguyen Van family donate blood 88 times
(BGO) – Among the collective
and individual blood donors, the Nguyen Van family comprising of 29 households in
Trong village, Tien Luc commune (Lang Giang district, Bac Giang province) were
honored for donating blood 88 times.
First permanent blood donation site opens in Hanoi
The National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT) officially launched a permanent blood donation site at Hoan Kiem Medical Centre, No. 26 Luong Ngoc Quyen Street, Hang Buom ward, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi on June 22.
