Road linking Viet Yen district and Bac Giang city underway

Updated: 14:44, 03/03/2021
(BGO) - To expand the connection with Bac Giang city, the People's Committee of Viet Yen district has assigned the district Project Management Unit as the investor of a road connecting the ring road of Bich Dong township (Viet Yen) with the northeast belt road of Bac Giang city.

The 5-km road is designed to start from the intersection with the ring road of Bich Dong township and end at a point that intersects with the road linking Tran Hung Dao street and Vo Nguyen Giap street (Bac Giang city).

At first, the road will be built under the main urban street standard, with its foundation of 35 m, two-lane surface (each lane is 7.5 m wide), sidewalk of 10 m, and median strip. The project has a total investment of 170 billion VND (7.4 million USD) sourced from the local budget. In the long term, the road will be widened to suit the district planning by 2035.

At this time, the investor is conducting site clearance work. The project is expected to be completed and put into operation before 2024. The road will be the premise to attract investment to the planned 205ha Song Mai - Nghia Trung Industrial Park and the 75ha Nghia Trung Industrial Cluster (according to the draft provincial planning to 2030, with a vision to 2050).

It will also contribute to completing the district’s transport infrastructure, facilitating the connection between the Viet Yen urban area and Bac Giang city and easing traffic flows through My Do Bridge on Xuong Giang street of Bac Giang city.
