SGI donates to build three-arched gate and Trinh pagoda in Vinh Nghiem pagoda
At this event, representatives of Evergreen Bac Giang Joint Stock Company and Sai Gon Investment Group (SGI) presented a fund of 30 billion VND (1.3 million USD) for construction of the three-arched gate and Trinh pagoda in Vinh Nghiem pagoda relic complex.

According to SGI’s Chairman Dang Thanh Tam, his family, leaders of SGI and him have visited Vinh Nghiem pagoda several times on implementing the projects in Bac Giang province which left them deep impression. Thus, he wants to make a small contribution to building the three-arched gate and Trinh pagoda in Vinh Nghiem pagoda relic complex. Besides, the Group is willing to join hands with the province to embellish and preserve many other old pagodas in the province.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong expressed his heartfelt thanks to SGI especially Dang Thanh Tam’s family for their attention to preservation and development of the cultural and historical values and their support for the pandemic fight in the province.
His stressed, Vinh Nghiem pagoda is a “great ancient pagoda”, a national monks training center which is attached to the foundation and development of Truc Lam Yen Tu Buddhism and three founders of Truc Lam Zen sect. This is considered a “Typical Buddhist Culture Museum in Vietnam”. The historical relic and architecture of Vinh Nghiem pagoda was ranked the Special National Relic by Prime Minister in 2015.

He affirmed, with the significance of Vinh Nghiem pagoda, the donation to build the three-arched gate and Trinh pagoda would contribute to helping the descendants understand more about the origin and values of the ancient Kinh Bac region. He expected the Group to continue accompanying the province in implementing other social welfare projects.
