Sloonghao singing festival and upland spring kermis in Luc Ngan district
The events were attended by Nguyen Van Linh, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and Lai Thanh Son, Vice Permanent Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee. It is the cultural activity of Luc Ngan district in response to Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival and Culture-Tourism Week in Bac Giang province themed “Discovering the sacred land of Tay Yen Tu”.

Under the cultural space with deep traditional identity, the Sloonghao singing festival and upland spring kermis were held with a big scale via many cultural and sports activities of the Tay, Nung ethnic minority groups residing at Tan communes and adjacent localities.
Additionally, there was an exchange programme of folk song singing among 27 clubs who sing the ethnic folk songs of the Tay, Nung, San Diu minority groups in and outside the district as well as playing traditional folk games among others.

Besides, a diverse space was organized for the visitors to enjoy the festival, buy the signature products of the high land people such as Cham (indigo-dyed) and Tho cam (brocade) clothes, farm staples
The joyful and prosperous environment of the early spring urged thousands of people to visit and cheer the events. Among the performed songs, the most outstanding is the Sloonghao melody of the Nung couples.

To preserve and promote the intangible cultural value, Luc Ngan district has instructed to hold the Sloonghao singing festival and upland spring kermis to gradually restore the (original) traditional cultural activities of the Tay and Nung ethnic minority groups on the first kermis of the year as well as diversify the cultural storage of the ethnic groups in Luc Ngan district since 2019.
