At mid-noon of a severe hot day in July, the accommodation in Na O hamlet, Khe Ro Ecotourism site in An Lac commune is still comfortable with the cool wind and fresh air. Thanks to local attraction with unique features, Na O community tourism site welcomes many visitors on weekdays. According to Director of An Lac Community Tourism Service Cooperative (Cooperative) Vu Ngoc Huan, apart from the visitors, the Cooperative receives more than 100 bookings for restaurant service from those coming from Hanoi, Thai Nguyen and Bac Giang city.
Huan said due to the impact of Covid-19 pandemic, this year the Cooperative mostly welcomes domestic visitors. Previously, several tourists, sometimes over 300 people from German, Italy and Republic of Korea visited local destinations.
Here, the visitors can enjoy the local dishes, accommodation as well as live and exchange with the local residents.

The Cooperative established the groups to raise bee, grow herbal medicine, clean up the environment, guide the tourists, perform art show...to meet the visitors’ demand.
In 2019, Na O tourism site welcomed about 19,000 tourist arrivals in and outside the province. This year, the number of tourist is expected to much increased.
Protecting the eco environment and investing in infrastructure

It was the great effort of the local authority and residence to build Na O and An Lac community tourism sites become attractive destinations.
Huan recalled when the Cooperative was established in 2014 toward community tourism building, he did not know how to provide the services. After receiving supports from many parties, learning experience from several places, gradually he approached and developed the model.
Acknowledging that the Tay ethnic people have yet to deeply understand about their culture leading to the faded language and customs, the Cooperative founded the art troops of Tinh musical instrument, Then singing; helped the locals preserve the speaking language and signature costume.
To date, the Cooperative’s members have taught Then singing to 20 local children who love Tay language and play the role of the young talents to further preserve and transfer the ethnic cultural identities to the future generations.
Additionally, the Cooperative is striving to restore the Tay’s ethnic traditional dance of Trau Then.
Apart from An Lac Eco Tourism Site, Son Dong province also boasts for many other destinations such as Dong Cao plateur, Ba Tia waterfall, Khe Chao lake...and huge primitive forest.

From the proved effectiveness of Na O tourism model, Son Dong district defined it is a key task in the upcoming time to develop the tourism in close linkage with preserving the ethnic cultural identities, including community base tourism.
The district strives to welcome 1 million tourist arrivals by 2025 with 2 to 3 hamlets successfully building community based and experimental tourism models. To realize the target, the local authority has focused on well managing the locations with tourism developing potential and standardizing the experimental model.
Representative of the district Division of Culture and Information said, it is the key task to protect the eco environment, preserve the original primitive forest and ethnic cultural identities in community tourism development.
Additionally, the district has invested in the key traffic routes to develop the tourism in the future and ensure the smooth connection to other localities while fostering and enhancing the qualification for tourism human resources.
