Special national relic site Safety Zone II to be improved and promoted values
Investing to upgrade the relics
8 destinations in the Safety Zone II were ranked the special national relic sites on December 31, 2020. Previously in October 2020, the provincial People’s Committee approved the project to invest in the items: repairing and improving a number of ATK II historic and cultural relics in the communes of Hoa Son, Hoang Van and Xuan Cam. Hiep Hoa district was assigned as the investor of this project with total fund of nearly 60 billion VND (2.6 million USD).

At Y Son temple (Hoa Son commune), these days the members of the Temple Managing Board and local people are busing with moving the offering stuff to the safe place to hand over ground for the construction units. Y Son historic and cultural relic site was a place of many revolutionary events. For the special reasons, Y Son temple has become a center for cultural and religious activities of local people and attracting visitors from everywhere.
As a number of items have been damaged, the district people’s committee will repair all of the main halls, right hand left hallways, gates and joss paper burning place while building more auxiliary house, kitchen, surrounding walls and improving internal traffic roads, water supply and drainage system and green area. The project is expected to complete in 2022.
Apart from the 2 above-mentioned landscapes, the other sites in the Safety Zone II will be also repaired and many new items will be built to meet the people’s demand for religious and cultural activities and provide convenient conditions for visitors. Particularly, the ATK II exhibition house, the reception house and campus of Cho Van temple will be improved with a fund of some 4 billion VND (173,498 USD).
Boosting promotion to lure visitors
The people’s committee of Hiep Hoa district has closely collaborated with related departments and agencies to grasp situation of the relics to repair and improve the degraded items in 2021-2025 period. Of which, the district will allocate fund for 8 sites in the special national relic Safety Zone II.
In line with mobilizing resources from state budget and community’s contribution to embellish and improve the relics, Hiep Hoa district pays special attention to promoting the image and historical meanings of the relic sites in the Safety Zone II. The district people’s committee also made the tourism development plan in the period of 2021-2025.
Accordingly, the locality will strive for tourism development in line with preserving and promoting values of the relics, especially fostering experience activities and journeys to the historical landscapes.
By 2025, Hiep Hoa district targets to form and develop two cultural and historical tourism spaces including the relic sites of the Safety Zone II and the eco-tourism site of stone mausoleum, quan ho (love-duet singing), ca tru (ceremonial singing) and cheo singing.
Tourism is a kind of combined economic sector, which is able to make enormous contribution to economic development, create several jobs and motivate development of other sectors. In order to achieve the target to welcome more than 10,000 tourists, Hiep Hoa directed the communes and townships to improve the competence and efficiency of the public administration while promoting roles of the locals in tourism development.
According to Pham Van Nghi, Vice Chairman of the district people’s committee, the district has made best use of the investment resources from the central and mobilized people to contribute both money and work force to develop infrastructure and facilities for tourism.
The district aims to attract potential and experienced investors in tourism construction and development. It will provide convenient and incentive mechanism and policies to lure investors to the locality. Besides, the district will cooperate with other localities to make tours and routines while providing training for professional and qualified tourist guides.
