A highlight of the programme will be an exhibition and reproduction of the process to create and issue the ancient calendar, as well as present the calendar cover to the king, during the Le Feudal Dynasty.
Researchers surveyed historical documents to find the related rituals. In addition, the Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Conservation Centre filmed the entire process and introduced it online.
On the occasion, visitors will have the chance to exchange with historian Le Van Lan and woodblock printing artisan Nguyen Van Thao.
Various traditional customs during Tet festival, such as worshiping the ancestors and displaying Tet pictures and couplets, among others, are also to be introduced. Artisans’ specialised tools and materials to create woodblocks will be displayed at the event.
The rituals are reproduced on the websites www.hoangthanhthanglong.vn and trungbayonline.hoangthanhthanglong.vn.
