Changing awareness toward clean production

Following clean production, six tonnes of lychee of her family were exported to Japan in 2021. With the encouragement from the communal agriculture encouragement staff, in late 2021, she changed to produce organic lychee.

She invested nearly 200 million VND (8,709 USD) to revamp the soil, buy organic fertilizer and allowed plant protection product and hire labours to care for the fruit trees.

Nguyen Thi Nhung, the agriculture encouragement staff in Phuc Hoa commune said Oanh’s family has followed the instruction to care for the crop, hence harvesting prominent result in term of fruit quality and appearance. The fruits meet standard for export and earn high selling price. It is the only organic lychee growing area in Tan Yen district.

In August 2021, NEW AG Technologies Vietnam Joint Stock Company directly inked the contract to consume lychee of Oanh’s family this year to export to US market.

Studying her model, many households in Phuc Le village gradually switched to organic production trend.

Safe lychee gets early buying contract

To date, Tan Yen district has more than 1,300 ha of lychee, mostly in the communes of Phuc Hoa, Lien Son, Tan Trung, Hop Duc, Lien Chung, Viet Lap and Cao Thuong town, including over 1,100 ha of early ripening lychee.

This year output is estimated at some 16,000 tonnes. Over 880 ha of lychee are grown in line with food safety and hygiene method, 380 ha are qualified with VietGAP and GlobalGAP standard (including 30 ha of newly development).

Favorable weather condition this year helps Tan Yen lychee have high fruit bearing rate of 90 percent of the cultivation area. It is one month to come the harvest time for early ripening lychee.

Apart from NEW AG Technologies Vietnam Joint Stock Company, on April 20, Viet France Joint Stock Company inked contract to consume lychee of five ha in Phuc Hoa commune with the selling price of nearly 40,000 VND per kg to export to Europe.

Eight households participating in the contract committed to producing clean lychee in line with the procedure requested and supervised by the business. At the same time, some companies and cooperatives in charge of producing and consuming Phuc Hoa early ripening lychee have prepared programme to export lychee to Cambodia, Russia as well as sell the fruits at several domestic super markets…

As forecast, it is hard to export lychee to China, especially early ripening lychee because this market now restricts import activities from Vietnam. So Tan Yen district has highly focused on increasing product quality to export to other markets and sell the fruits domestically.

The district has closely cooperated with provincial competent agencies to direct Phuc Hoa commune People’s Committee to prepare condition serving online inspection of Chinese Customs at the households who produce lychee within the lychee growing area code to export to China.

Mean while, the district has collaborated with the Plant Protection Department and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to select and propose to grant one new code for lychee to Japan in 11 ha at Thai Hoa village, Phuc Hoa commune.

Though the remaining lychee areas in the communes of Hop Duc, Lien Chung, Lien Son, Tan Trung and Cao Thuong town are oriented to domestic market, the district authority directed farmers to follow VietGAP and GlobalGAP procedures as well as organic trend to raise the fruit quality, ready for export.

High lychee fruit bearing rate thanks to favorable weather condition

(BGO) - The favorable weather condition this year helps lychee have high flowering and fruit bearing rate in Bac Giang province particularly over 95 percent for early ripening lychee and 75 percent for main lychee season (3-5 percent higher than the figure last year), reported the provincial Plant Production and Protection Division.

Expectation of a fruitful lychee season in Bac Giang

About 160,000 tonnes of Bac Giang lychee is scheduled to be sold on the market in 2022. Promoting exports to major markets will be one of the important consumption orientations Bac Giang is pursuing.

Luc Ngan district pays attention to lychee quality, expansion of consumption market
