Tour to fruit garden of outstanding farmer Nguyen Van Huu
In 2011, Huu and his wife revamped the soil then bought fruit seedlings from Ben Tre province to grow on their land. They grew more than 1,000 trees in line with VietGAP procedure.

Apart from green skin pomelo, he grew sweet pomelo, yellow flesh orange, sweet orange and other varieties in nearly 10 hectares. So far, his 13 year old green skin pomelo garden has been highly ranked among the best quality garden in the district.
Thanks to the guidance from local authority and sectors, Thanh Hai Agriculture Production and Trading Cooperative was established in 2021 and Nguyen Van Huu acted as Director.
Apart from growing citrus fruits, the Cooperative also develops community based tourism as a new trend to tap the advantages of the staple crop.
The Cooperative offers various experiences for tourists such as visiting citrus orchards laden with fruits, experiencing lotus lake, fish farming pond and family experimental area among others. Every year, the Cooperative welcomes thousands of domestic and foreign travelers.
Huu shared happily: “To meet the visitors’ demand, we has recently invested over two billion VND (over 86,100 USD) in revamping the path, growing flowers on road sides, building two floor stilt house together with accommodation facilities and spiritual, garden, bonsai tour. In early July this year, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism recognized my facility as Hoa Qua Son Ecotourism site. It is the big motivation for me to try harder”.
In 2022, his family earned about 5.3 billion VND from all sources or benefit of over 3 billion VND after excluding all expenses.
In addition, Huu is ready to share planting experiences for many other households, actively contributes expenses to new style rural building and local movements. He has been honored with many certificate of merits from Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee for outstanding achievement in implementing patriotism movement, doing business and building solidarity to get rich together.
