Tu Linh wins silver at Asian U20 Chess Championship; Phuong Thuy wins gold at National Badminton Championship for Outstanding Players
BAC GIANG - The Asian U20 Chess Championship wrapped in the Philippines after 10 days of competition from October 10-20 with the participation from two Vietnamese players Dau Khuong Duy (Hanoi) and Luong Hoang Tu Linh (Bac Giang).
The Asian U20 Chess Championship attracted 32 male and 22 female players from 13 countries and chess federations, including many strong players from the World Chess Federation, India and Kazakhstan to compete in 3 events: Standard chess, rapid chess and blitz chess for individual prizes.

With great efforts during the competition, 2 athletes representing the Vietnamese sports delegation both won Silver Medals in the blitz chess event.
According to chess coach Hoang Van Ngoc in Bac Giang Province Sports Training and Competition Center, player Luong Hoang Tu Linh is now at an age of good professional development with potential, especially strength in blitz chess. Previously, Tu Linh won the silver medal in the individual U18 Asian blitz chess event in 2023 and many achievements in national chess championships.
Additionally, the badminton team significantly contributed to the achievements of Bac Giang sports.

At the National Badminton Championship for Outstanding Players taking place from October 14-19, 2024 in the Bac Ninh Provincial Multi-purpose Gymnasium, athlete Tran Thi Phuong Thuy excellently won the Gold Medal in the women's singles; athlete Tran Quoc Khanh won the Bronze Medal in the men's singles; the couple Than Van Anh - Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lan won the Bronze Medal in the women's doubles while Pham Van Hai - Than Van Anh won the Bronze Medal in the mixed doubles.
The great result helped Bac Giang rank 2nd after the Hanoi delegation on the medal tally.
