Two Vietnamese hotels named among Forbes' best in the world

Updated: 15:45, 21/02/2025

Capella Hanoi and Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai have earned Forbes' 5-star rating, placing them among the world's top hotels in 2025.

Forbes Travel Guide, a recognized authority in luxury hospitality rankings, recently announced its 2025 Star Awards winners. This year, Vietnam had 10 properties recognized, including two 5-star hotels and four 4-star hotels.

Capella Hanoi offers a retreat near the historic Hanoi Opera House.

The 5-star winners are Capella Hanoi and Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai. According to Forbes Travel Guide, this rating is reserved for hotels that "deliver an outstanding experience and consistently offer a highly customized level of service".

In 2025, only 350 of the 2,187 rated hotels and resorts worldwide received 5-star status.

Capella Hanoi makes its debut on Forbes’ 5-star list this year, earning praise for its design.

The 47-room luxury hotel was designed by Bill Bensley, an interior designer who has designed over 200 hospitality projects in 50 countries. Inspired by the golden age of opera, Bensley imagined it as a boutique retreat where celebrities once stayed.

Each room is designed to honor an opera talent, while its themed restaurants showcase historic artifacts. Guests can take part in cultural experiences like tai chi by Hoan Kiem Lake and gin tastings at Song Cai Distillery.

The hotel features Hibana by Koki, a Michelin-starred restaurant, and two Michelin Selected dining options Backstage and Izakaya by Koki. It has become a preferred stay for both local and international celebrities, including K-pop group Blackpink during their Vietnam tour.

Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai secured Forbes' highest rating for the third consecutive year. Nestled between Da Nang and Hoi An in central Vietnam coast, the resort is described as a tranquil retreat.

The resort welcomes guests with coconut palms and flowers, creating a private retreat. It features a temple-inspired lobby, infinity pools, villas, and a spa set around a koi and lotus-filled lagoon.

Originally opened in 2006, the resort transformed after Four Seasons took over in 2016, expanding its offerings to include a mix of leisure and adventure activities for guests.

In addition to the two 5-star winners, four other Vietnamese hotels received 4-star ratings: Park Hyatt Saigon, Regent Phu Quoc, The Reverie Saigon, and Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi.

Four other properties made it onto Forbes' Recommended List, which are: The Grand Ho Tram Strip, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi, and Pullman Danang Beach Resort.
