Vietnam confirms 70th Covid-19 death

Health authorities confirmed Wednesday that a 61-year-old woman in the southern province of Tien Giang has become the nation's 70th Covid-19 death.

She died Monday due because of complications of Covid-19, type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure.

She was admitted to a local hospital on June 15 after testing positive for the novel coronavirus. She had developed symptoms of coughing, tiredness and breathing trouble on Monday.

This is the 35th death in the latest Covid-19 wave in which over 10,500 cases have been confirmed as of Wednesday.
