Vietnam reports two more Covid deaths
The deceased patients were both elderly people with underlying conditions, the Ministry of Health announced.
One of them was an 81-year-old woman in Bac Ninh who has had diabetes for four years and suffered from a stroke in 2019. She displayed symptoms like coughing and difficulty breathing on May 24 before she was transferred to the Bac Ninh general hospital. She was later diagnosed with severe pneumonia due to Covid-19, and was treated with numerous drugs.

Her condition worsened on May 26 and she was transferred to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi. Despite numerous treatments, she responded poorly to them and died on July 2. Her causes of death were pneumonia due to Covid-19, septic shock and fungal infections.
The other patient was a 64-year-old man in Hung Yen, who was diagnosed with throat cancer in January and underwent radiotherapy multiple times at the K Hospital in Hanoi.
He displayed symptoms like fever and coughing on June 8 and was later diagnosed with Covid-19. He was transferred to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases and was also diagnosed with pneumonia due to the coronavirus.
His condition worsened on June 16 and despite several treatments, he responded poorly to them and died on July 2. His causes of death were pneumonia due to Covid-19, blood poisoning and septic shock.
Vietnam has recorded 15,893 cases in 52 of its 63 cities and provinces since the fourth Covid-19 wave broke out in the nation on April 27.
With HCMC taking the lead at 5,865 cases, Bac Giang follows behind with 5,660 cases.
Over 3.8 million people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 so far, with over 218,000 of them having received two shots.
