Four bronzes were added to Vietnam’s tally on the last day of APG 2018 – one in swimming (men’s 200m individual medley SM6), two in table tennis (men’s team TT 8, women’s team TT8-10), and one in badminton (men’s singles SL3).
After contributing five to Vietnam’s nine golds at the 2014 APG, swimmer Vo Thanh Tung went on to become the brightest Vietnamese performer in Indonesia this year, claiming three golds (200m freestyle S5, 50m backstroke S5, 100m freestyle S5), and two silvers (50m butterfly S5, 50m freestyle S5), as well as breaking one Asian record (100m freestyle S5) and two APG records (50m backstroke S5, 200m freestyle S5).

The remaining five titles were won by powerlifters Dang Thi Linh Phuong (women’s 50kg) and Nguyen Binh An (men’s 54kg), swimmer Nguyen Thanh Trung (men’s 100m breaststroke SB4), and chess players Nguyen Thi My Linh (women’s individual rapid VI-B2/B3), and Doan Thu Huyen, Tran Thi Bich Thuy and Nguyen Thi Minh Thu (women’s team rapid P1).

China finished on top of the overall medal table with 172 golds, followed by the Republic of Korea with 53 and Iran with 51.
