Vietnam hotels, resorts bag World Travel Awards

Several luxury hotels and resorts in popular tourism hotspots in Vietnam have won awards in different categories at the annual 2021 World Travel Awards for Asia contest.

Muong Thanh Luxury Nha Trang Hotel in the beach resort town of Nha Trang was named winner in Asia's leading beach hotel category while Hotel de la Coupole – MGallery in Sa Pa Town won Asia’s best designed hotel prize.

La Veranda Resort- MGallery on Phu Quoc Island was chosen Asia's top boutique beach resort; while Silk Sense Hoi An River Resort in the ancient town Hoi An grabbed the best boutique resort award.

Also in Phu Quoc, the InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort won Asia's leading luxury family resort category while JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay topped the leading luxury resort & spa category.

InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort in the central city of Da Nang won Asia’s leading green resort award while Banyan Tree Lang Co in Hue bagged it for the luxury beach resort category.

The results were based on votes cast by travel industry professionals and the public, organizers said.

World Travel Awards was first launched in 1993 to acknowledge excellence in the travel and tourism industry. It has been described as the "travel industry's equivalent of the Oscars" by The Wall Street Journal.
