Vietnam secures berth at Vovinam world championships

Vietnam won the throne at the sixth World Vovinam Championships, which took place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on December 16-22, with 18 gold, nine silver, and one bronze medals.
One of the best Vietnamese athletes was Tran Anh Tuan with the third gold medal at the 54kg category.

Host Cambodia surpassed Algeria to rise to the second place, after Vietnam.
This year’s event attracted nearly 400 martial artists from 24 countries and territories.
Close to 2.5 million people are practising Vovinam across over 70 nations worldwide.
ONE Championship, the popular martial arts contest, will be held in HCMC next March as one of its 2020 season stops.

the Bac Giang born martial artist Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy won a silver at the final
match on October 23.
A team of Vietnamese martial artists have secured a number of medals including seven golds, eight silvers, and six bronze medals at the first World Beach Pencak Silat Championship 2019 which recently concluded in Phuket, Thailand.
Tran Van Hung grew up with the question “Why did my parents abandon me?” but has gotten over the sadness through martial arts.
Vietnamese martial artists have won five gold, six silver and seven bronze medals at the Chungju World Martial Arts Masterships in South Korea.
