Vietnam sends over 85,000 workers abroad in seven months
According to the Department of Overseas Labour under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, 85,224 workers were sent abroad during the seven-month period (including 29,712 female workers), meeting 77.48% of the yearly plan.

Vietnam set the target of sending about 110,000 workers abroad in 2023.
Japan remains the leading market for Vietnamese workers, receiving 41,139 workers, including 17,774 female workers, in the first seven months of this year.
It was followed by Taiwan (China) with 36,956 workers, the Republic of Korea with 1,799 workers, China with 1,026 workers, and others.
In July alone, nearly 13,000 workers were sent abroad.
According to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Vietnam saw a positive recovery in the number of workers sent abroad in the first half of this year. The country sent nearly 72,300 workers abroad in the first six months of this year, 1.55 times higher than the same period last year.
