Vietnamese firms attend Asia Pacific food expo in Singapore

Four farm produce and food processing businesses of Vietnam are participating in the Asia Pacific Food Expo (APFE) 2019, which is underway in Singapore until November 24.

These firms have successfully entered the Singaporean market and want to expand their presence to other markets in Asia Pacific.

Notably, Vietnam’s dairy products and organic beverages have been displayed at the expo for the first time.

The event draws numerous visitors and customers.

At the opening ceremony, L’Earth, a Vietnamese start-up specialised in healthy drinks and fruit jelly, was honoured with the Food Innovation Product Award 2019 presented by the Singapore Food Manufacturers’ Association.

The APFE 2019 features nearly 200 pavilions of 10 countries and territories which boast strength in agro-forestry-fishery and food processing, including China, India, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.

The annual expo, one of the largest food events in the region, offers chances for firms to introduce their products and study consumers’ taste, as well as seek business partners.

This year, it is expected to attract about 400,000 visitors.

Vietnam’s export tunover surges 7.4 percent in 10 months
Vietnam’s export turnover in the last 10 months yearly increased 7.4 percent year-on-year to over 217 billion USD, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT).
Export value hit 877 million USD in October
(BGO) – The Department of Industry and Trade has reported that the export turnover in the northern province of Bac Giang hit some 877 million USD in October, making up total of nearly 7 billion USD in 10 month period, up 33 percent comparing to the same period last year. 
Vietnam’s first batch of milk exported to China
A ceremony was held in Hanoi on October 22 to announce the export of Vietnam’s first batch of dairy products to China under a protocol signed between the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the General Administration of Customs of China on April 26, 2019.
E-commerce to give firms more export chances
Vietnam has been recording strong development in e-commerce, through which businesses will have more chances to promote export, an official said at a workshop in Hanoi on October 18.
Vietnamese businesses active at RoK’s int’l agriculture expo
The Vietnam-Korea Businessmen and Investment Association (VKBIA) has joined the organiser of the ongoing International Agriculture Exhibition (IAE) 2019 in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, to run several activities at event.
