Vietnam's local Covid tally crosses 29,000
Of the new cases, Ho Chi Minh City accounted for 365, including 336 cases in areas under lockdown and quarantine zones. 29 other cases have unclear sources of transmissions.
The remaining cases were detected in six other localities.

Long An Province that borders HCMC got 52 cases, with 22 having contact with Covid-19 patients, 13 returning from HCMC, and 17 being contact traced.
Mekong Delta's Vinh Long Province registered 23 cases, including 11 associated with existing cases and 12 related to a cluster at a company in Long Ho District.
Dong Nai which also neighbors HCMC reported 12 cases, and nine of them are linked to a cluster at Long Tan Commune in Nhon Trach District while three are being contact traced.
The central Phu Yen Province reported seven cases and all have been isolated prior to their positive test results.
Tay Ninh Province, another HCMC's neighbor, recorded five cases, with four linked to confirmed patients and one having visited HCMC.
The case in Hanoi is linked to a confirmed patient.
Since the new wave started hitting Vietnam in late April, community infections have been recorded in 58 of Vietnam's 63 cities and provinces.
The nation's biggest city, HCMC, stands top in the number of cases and the authorities have warned of a higher tally for the city in the coming days, given that they have kept detected infections with unknown sources of transmission in the community every day.
Vietnam has vaccinated more than four million of its 96-million population against Covid-19 and 280,367 have got two doses.
