(BGO) – Since early season, Vifoco Import Export Joint Stock Company (Vifoco) in Bac Giang city (Bac Giang province) has bought 600 tonnes of Luc Ngan fresh lychees to process and supply to domestic businesses, supermarkets and restaurants.

This year, due to the impact of Covid-19 pandemic, the whole products of processed lychees such as canned lychee flesh, frozen lychee flesh, frozen lychee fruits without stalk...are consumed in domestic market.

To ensure the quality and enhance product value, Vifoco invested in erecting automatic production line from the step of fruit classifying, peeling, seed removing, packing while building nearly 4,000 cubic meters of frozen warehouse to preserve about 800 tonnes of lychee at minus 18 degree Celsius (condition to preserve lychees with good quality in 2 years). As plan, Vifoco will consume about 1,000 tonnes of Luc Ngan fresh lychees.

On June 22, more than 3 tonnes of Bac Giang lychees which sufficiently met the quality standard were delivered to the customers in the EU by e-commerce platform Voso.

The Vietnam E-Commerce and Digital Economy Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade said this is the first time Vietnam’s agricultural products have been shipped to Europe through the “cross-border e-commerce” model on an e-commerce platform developed and operated by Vietnamese.
