Visa granted to over 300 Chinese traders to immigrate to Bac Giang to buy lychee
Now, the Department of Plan Protection (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) is completing the document to issue visa to Japanese plant quarantine experts to Vietnam and Bac Giang to supervise the procedures of processing and packing fresh lychee to export to Japan.

It is a new market with huge potential for lychee export in particular and farm produce in general.
Previously, to handle to obstacles for lychee promotion and consumption amid the strict requirement for Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control, the Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee submitted correspondence to the Prime Minister, Ministry of Public Security and Department of Immigration to allow Chinese traders to enter the province to buy lychees who will strictly follow the medical isolation regulation.
Apart from China, Bac Giang province continues the strategy to export to several markets of Japan, Republic of Korea, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore...
Particularly, Japanese market accepted 19 growing area codes with total areas of 103 ha cultivated by 107 households. The estimated output is over 900 tonnes of fruits. Besides, the province strives to expand the export market to such demanding ones like Middle East, EU, the US, Canada.....
Bac Giang province continues developing 18 growing area codes covering 218 ha with total productivity of over 1,000 tonnes of fruits which are eligible for export.
This year, Bac Giang expects to harvest total output of 160,000 tonnes of fresh fruits, up 10,000 tonnes comparing to 2019 from May 20 to July 10, 2020.
