online Vietnam-Singapore Trade Conference 2020 will be held on 29 and 30 May. Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency together with the Trade Office of
Vietnam Embassy in Singapore will help Bac Giang province to
introduce lychee to Singapore market.
This will be a good opportunity to promote the province’s farm produce and approach Singaporean fruit importersAccording to the report by the provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT), Bac Giang maintains the lychee growing area of 28,000 hectare in 2020 with the output expected at 160,000 tonnes (accounting for majority proportion of lychee growing area and productivity in Vietnam).

Of which, lychee growing area under VietGAP standards is 15,000 hectares and 218 hectares follow GlobalGAP issued with IRADS (Irradiation Reporting and Accountability Database) code by the US.
Besides, the Japanese competent agency approved 19 production unit codes (PUCs) while China approved 149 PUCs and 288 packaging units.
Currently, Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency is collaborating with Bac Giang DoIT to prepare for the most effective promotion measures to introduce Bac Giang lychee to Singaporean importers via this business networking webinar.
In fact, although Singaporean people consumers really like Vietnamese lychee because of its delicious taste, this country mainly imports the product from Chinese traders.
Vifoco to buy 700 tonnes of fresh lychee for processing to export

Vifoco Import Export Joint Stock Company (Vifoco) in Bac Giang city (Bac Giang
province) has inked the contract to buy 700 tonnes of fresh lychees from two
cooperatives in Luc Ngan district, namely Hong Xuan and Xuyen Viet Agriculture Production and General Service Supply Cooperatives.
Bac Giang ready for consumption of lychee in 2020 season
The lychee cultivation hub of Bac Giang Province is about to enter harvest season for local lychee, including early maturing lychee and lychee of the main crop. The export of the fruit may face difficulties due to the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic but the province has prepared plans to boost consumption of the fruit.

the distribution groups, wholesale markets, businesses, cooperatives and
traders who want to visit Bac Giang province to consume lychee so as to have
suitable supporting method.
