Way to the future of two poor gifted students
The orphan student’s dream of studying abroad
His mother died of a traffic accident when Nguyen Dinh Hai was only 2 months old, and at the age of 3, his father passed away, making Hai's childhood pass through in hardships. Hai and his two elder brothers have lived on the support of their grandmother and relatives.

Since he was small, he has always studied hard and obeyed his grandmother, teachers and elder brothers. Supporting the studious boy, on the occasion of preparing for the new school year, the Children’s Festival or the traditional Lunar New Year, a number of organizations and individuals and the Study Promotion Associations at all levels presented him bicycles, books and clothes.
Winning the second prize in Physics in the national excellent student selection exam in 2018, Nguyen Dinh Hai was directly enrolled into the Hanoi University of Technology. Nguyen Thi Vui - Hai's grandmother, 81 years old, excitedly said: "The family faced a pile of difficulties, many times Hai seemed to have to abandon his study, but my grandchild was eager to learn. I hope that he will try to study well and become a useful person later”.
During the years of studying at the Bac Giang High School for Gifted Students, the school’s management board paid much attention to reducing tuition and other contributions for him. In addition, in the 11th grade, Hai was given the "Chap canh uoc mo" (Giving Wings to Your Dreams) scholarship worth 5 million VND (215 USD) by the school’s alumni.
This hard-working and close-mouthed schoolboy also won many high prizes in excellent student selection exams. Among those are the Silver Medal in the exam to select excellent students at high schools for gifted students in the northern coastal and delta region (Grade 10); and the second prize in Physics in the national excellent student selection exam in 2018.

He was also chosen to participate in the second round of the exam to select candidates to the National Physics team for the Asian Physics Olympiad.
“When I was studying at the Bac Giang High School for Gifted Students, I was helped by many teachers but when I am in university, I have to take care of everything myself because now my grandmother is old. Currently, I also learn about some suitable jobs so that I can do during the free time to cover learning costs,” Hai confided.
Wishing to help save patients
With the third prize in the 2019 national excellent student selection exam and the total score of three Group A subjects (Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics) of 25.15 points - surpassing the entrance floor point of the Hanoi University of Pharmacy, Hoang Thanh Dat from Village 8, Viet Tien Commune (Viet Yen district) is named in the list of students directly enrolled into the school.
The joy just came to the good student but his parents are more worried about the burden of studying costs for their son in the coming time. Dat is the youngest in a family with four children. The family life is hard, with very thrifty spending.

He also won the Silver Medal and Gold Medal in the exams to select excellent students at high schools for gifted students in the northern coastal and delta region (Grades 10 and 11); the consolation and third prizes in the national excellent student selection exam in Chemistry when he was in Grades 11 and 12.
This time, while some of his friends relax after the national high school exam, Dat still learns English himself and reads books. Dat said thanks to reading books, he finds himself motivated to try harder, helping him prepare the necessary knowledge and skills for himself to enter a new journey.
