Women entrepreneurs join hands for community

(BGO) – Not only promoting their talents, diversifying fields of investment to get rich legally, members of the Women Entrepreneurs’ Association (WEA) in Bac Giang province have been active in charity work to share the community difficulties, especially amid the complicated development of Covid-19 pandemic.

Founded in 2011, the provincial WEA has 200 members directly managing the enterprises and trading facilities in various aspects of commerce, transportation, agro forestry and rural among others. They are clear headed and dynamic on trading market while proactively joining hands in social welfare programmes.

The provincial Women Entrepreneurs’ Association, Bac Giang municipal Division donate one washing machine to the municipal Medical Center for disease prevention and control.

On every Lunar New Year occasion, the WEA presents about 500 gift packages to the poor, builds humanitarian houses, offers humanity porridge at several medical facilities, supports Central flood victims and those affected by Covid-19 pandemic...

Many members help create jobs to people with disabilities or impoverished labours so as to give them stable income of four to seven million VND (175 – 307 USD) per person per month.

In May and June, Bac Giang became pandemic hot spot in the country. Many companies and business facilities in the province suspended the operation and suffered loss revenue. Sharing with dozens of thousands of workers in the quarantined sites, frontline forces of medics, police, military, WEA members actively called for donations from kind-hearted people and charity groups as well as mobilize a part of expense to support the necessities, medical supplies for disease prevention and control.

Nguyen Thi Ngoan (born in 1983), Director of Hoang Ninh Trade and Commercial Company Limited in Quang Chau commune, Viet Yen district called for many essential products and medical supplies.

Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuc, Director of BAGICO Joint Stock Company in Viet Yen district connected to consume farm produce for farmers and provided bottle waters.

Nguyen Thi Ba, Vice General Manager of Hai Au Construction Company Limited in Bac Giang city presented 800 beds for field hospitals to treat Covid-19 patients...

Many other members in the business women community in the province mobilized a part of their income together with calling for donation from friends and relatives. They actively connected to Vietnam Association For Women Entrepreneurs and other provinces to add more sources. Particularly in the fourth disease outbreak, the provincial WEA called for donation of over 10.5 billion VND in cash and kind for disease prevention and control.

According to provincial WEA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Loan, most of the member companies and business facilities were affected by the pandemic. But with the responsibility for community, every one exerted all efforts together with local authority in Covid-19 fight.

Recently when the disease has complicatedly developed in Southern localities, amid the difficulties, the provincial business women donated more than 200 million VND in cash and necessities to the hot spot.

“Currently when the life enters new normal stage, all divisions are reviewing difficult members to have assistance method. We enhance to support companies, keep operation, join Covid-19 fight, respond to charity work, assist women to develop economy and business startup,” Loan share.

With such positive contributions, in July 2021, the provincial WEA was granted Certificate of Merit by Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee for active donation to local Covid-19 prevention and control.
