Young entrepreneurs create more than three million jobs

The congress was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Le Quoc Phong, and more than 700 delegates representing nearly 10,000 association members from across the country.
The participants reviewed the operation of the VYEA over the previous tenure, during which they affirmed that the association has maintained its role as one of the country’s largest business associations.
During the 2018-2021 tenure, the association intends to improve its operation at all levels with improved efficiency and professionalism, while actively participating in the creation of draft laws related to economics, the rights of economic components, start-up activities, and the fourth industrial revolution.
On the afternoon of the same day, the VYEA, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, held a ceremony to honor 68 excellent young start-up entrepreneurs of 2018.
These 68 businesspeople were selected out of hundreds of nominees from across the country through three rounds of selection.
In 2017, the 68 entrepreneurs were responsible for the generation of VND2.865 trillion (US$123.19 million) in revenue and VND 147 billion (US$6.32 million) in profit, contributing VND 91 billion (US$3.91 million) to the State budget, and creating 4,100 jobs.
