Youth month 2019 focuses on community development
The ceremony saw the attendance of President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Tran Thanh Man, First Secretary of the HCYU Central Committee Le Quoc Phong, local leaders and about 2,000 members of the HCYU.

Addressing the event, Phong said that 2019 has been chosen as the Year of Volunteer Young People. The youth month this year will focus on creating new values and making contributions to the growth of the society and nation, he said.
Therefore, the month will include diverse activities at the local level to draw a large number of members of the HCYU and youngsters, said Phong.

At the ceremony, the HCYU Central Committee presented 100 gifts to policy beneficiary families and ethnic minority people, along with a 500-million VND school to Tay Son district of Binh Dinh; six houses for needy families; two playing grounds and two swimming pools for children; 10 scholarships to poor students; free health check-ups and medicine to 1,000 locals; and five clean water supply works to Binh Dinh ethnic boarding school. The total value of the programme is over 1.4 billion VND (60,200 USD).
In response to the youth month, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Binh Dinh province on February 24 joined a programme to install a lighting system along 1km road in Thuan An Dong village of Hoai Huong commune.
