The information was released at a press conference for the 17th National Press Awards in Hanoi, on June 16.

This year’s awards received 1,894 works, including 157 entering the final round.

The jury of the awards selected 9 A prizes, 24 B prizes, 46 C prizes and 45 consolation prizes.

According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association (VJA) Nguyen Duc Loi, the works submitted for the awards closely grasp major topics including politics, economy, culture, society, defence, security and other aspects of life in 2022, reflecting the country's important events such as the efforts to revive socio-economic development and build an independent and self-reliant economy in the context of heavy impacts from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Many works discover new problems, criticize the major guidelines and policies of the Party and State, and propose many constructive solutions and measures that are pervasive and influential in society.

In addition, many works have good quality with tight layouts and close, lively and attractive presentations to readers.
