Bui Van Truong, Chairman of the Trade Union of Luxshare-ICT Company Limited (in Van Trung IP) is very busy with his daily work as a Head of the Quality Control Department.

Truong has participated in trade union work since 2015 and he was elected to be Chairman of the Trade Union of Luxshare-ICT Company Limited (in Van Trung IP) in August 2019. Truong and other member of Company Trade Union’s Executive Committee have proactively mobilized workers to join the organization.

To date, the percentage of workers in the company joining the trade union reached 100 percent with nearly 33,200 members. In line with organizing regular dialogues at the working place and annual employee conferences, Truong directed members of the Company Trade Union’s Executive Committee and team leaders of the trade union groups to gather opinions and aspirations of the members to select suitable problems to propose the company owner for resolution, helping workers to feel secured at work and engaged with the company.

Actually, a collective stoppage of work occurred at the company in 2020. With his knowledge, bravery and high sense of responsibility, he and the Company Trade Union’s Executive Committee represented the employees to work with the company leaders to seek proper solution.

When the workers’ rights and benefits are secured, the role of trade unionists in the company has been more affirmed. The living standard of the trade union members in Luxshare-ICT Company Limited has been improved when their income reaches from 9 to 12 million VND (359.4 to 479.3 USD) per month. Besides, they have opportunity to take part in many healthy cultural and sport activities.

Tran Thi Chi has been Chairperson of the Company Trade Union for 8 years.

“What I have done come from the responsibility and my wish to improve the living of the trade union members and workers. Trying my best to fulfill the duties and deserve the trust of the trade union organization is what I need to do”, she said when talking about the reward by VGCL.

Chi has to work very hard as a Vice Director of the Human Resource Department and Chairperson of the Company Trade Union but she always arranges time to fulfill both duties. She has proposed the Board of Directors improving the work conditions and heightening the quality of life for the trade union members. Thus, the dialogues with employees, negotiating and signing collective labour agreement have been properly implemented.

Besides, the Company Trade Union prioritizes supporting disadvantaged members and those facing sudden incidents. Since 2021, the Company Trade Union has visited over 7,000 trade union members who were sick, gave birth, got married or their family having funeral and supported fund for more than 2,700 members who had their houses repaired, suffered from serious diseases or got work accidents through the “Golden Heart” Fund established by Chi’s recommendation.

Chi has also proposed many effective solutions for the trade union activities where there are a large number of workers, especially application of digital transformation.

Particularly, she established the “Internal management system of trade union members” consisting of the functions: managing trade union member data, scanning card for gifts, surveying, digitalizing report and management of the trade union’s financing.

In addition, she recommended organizing online contests to learn knowledge about environment protection and work safety, contributing to improving efficiency of communication and attracting participation of many members. Besides, the Trade Union established a supervision team on the company kitchen and dining room to ensure meal quality and improve workers’ health.
