8 projects win first prizes at Science Technology Contest for senior and junior students

(BGO) – The Science Technology Contest for senior and junior students in 2018 – 2019 was held on December 19 – 20 in Giap Hai high school in Bac Giang city by the Department of Education and Training. 

The contest drew 118 projects submitted by 45 high schools, regular and vocational training centers, 10 Division of Education and Training in the districts and city, up 6 projects comparing to the last year.

First prize is awarded to the group of inventors Dao Manh Tuyen and Chu Dang Kiem in Phuong Son high school in Luc Nam district with the project of “Designing and manufacturing an automatic paper pulling system to support the marking of the question paper via telephone”

Many candidates selected the sectors of mechanical engineering, social and behavior science, embedded system, smart robot and machine and system software among others. The Board of Jury marked the projects upon such criteria as basic of scientific research, the procedure of data collection and analysis, projects’ creativeness and necessity…

After two days of competition, 72 projects were honored including 8 first prizes, 12 second prizes, 22 third prizes and 30 consolidation prizes.

Group of inventors Nguy Quang Hung and Tran Anh Duc, students in Tan Dan town secondary school in Yen Dung district wins first prize with the invention of “rice growing machine”.

The first prize winners were Giap Hai high school with “an emergency bag for fire at high building”; Ngo Si Lien high school (Bac Giang city) with two projects of “Preserving and promoting the unique cultural and historical values of woodblock” and “producing membrane making solution to preserve the lychee by recycled material of worm silks and silver nano product”; Tan Dan town secondary school (Yen Dung district) with the invention of “rice growing machine”; Phuong Son high school (Luc Nam district) with the topic of “Designing and manufacturing an automatic paper pulling system to support the marking of the question paper via telephone ”; Bac Giang high school for gifted students with the project of “researching to use SiO2 nanomaterial made up from husk ash in wastewater treatment”; Hiep Hoa No.4 high school with “Humanoid robot” and Lang Giang No.1 high school with the project of “Researching the breed black soldier flies to treat organic waste in Lang Giang district”.

The project of “Producing membrane making solution to preserve the lychee by recycled material of worm silks and silver nano product” invented by group of students Duong Hai Van and Tran Viet Hoang in Ngo Si Lien high school in Bac Giang school.

The contest is annually held to encourage the students’ passion for science and technology research, helping them use the knowledge of various subjects in handling actual issues such as treating the polluted environment, collecting waste on the river, inventing machines to support the harvest and processing of farm produce…
