The average selling price is 30,000 VND/kg so the revenue from lychees and supporting services in the commune hit over 300 billion VND, 100 billion VND higher than last year.
According to Ngo Van Tiep, Chairman of Phuc Hoa Commune People's Committee, this year, although many localities have lower output, Phuc Hoa still has a bumper harvest of early ripening lychee with total productivity increasing by more than 1,000 tonnes compared to the previous year.
At the same time, selling prices increased sharply, so revenue highly increased. Many households earned hundreds of millions of VND after the lychee crop, typically the households of Nguyen Van Chuyen and Nguyen Van Vu in Voi village; Do Duc Tung in Lan Thinh village.
In particular, thanks to the increasing quality, Phuc Hoa lychees has been successfully exported to many demanding markets such as Germany, Canada, Australia...
To date, Bac Giang province has consumed about 35 out of 50,000 tonnes of lychee (equivalent to about 70% of estimated output). Due to the specific microclimate, Luc Ngan district only harvests nearly 30% of early maturing lychees. The selling price on June 9 was from 45-70,000 VND per kg.
At the same time, local farmers in Luc Nam, Lang Giang, Son Dong districts started harvesting the main season lychees with smooth consumption.
This year, lychee growers in Bac Giang province continue to well apply science, technology and experience in farming so the lychee quality is increasingly highly. The output of the whole province is estimated at 100,000 tonnes, including nearly 50,000 tonnes of early ripening lychee and 50,000 tonnes of main season lychee.
