Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh lauded the contributions made by Vietnamese-Cambodian doctors in improving and developing the social life of people in the host country.

The Khmer – Vietnamese Doctors’ Association (KVDA) was established on February 24, 2016 under the Khmer – Vietnamese Association.

According to KVDA Chairman Hoang Hoa, the association now has more than 30 members, who have actively provided free health check-ups and medicines for over 1,000 Vietnamese and Cambodian people.

In the coming time, the association will focus its operations on charity activities towards healthcare for Overseas Vietnamese people in Cambodia and poor Cambodians.

Thirty-seven outstanding young doctors in Ho Chi Minh City were presented with the noble 2019 Pham Ngoc Thach Award at a ceremony hosted by the city’s Youth Union on February 24, as part of activities to mark Vietnamese Doctors’ Day.

The honorees were selected from 64 nominees, submitted by 19 medical units in the city. Since its launch six years ago, the biennial award has selected and honored 124 exemplary young physicians across the city.

Vietnamese doctor wins Nikkei Asia Prize

Professor Nguyen Thanh Liem won the 23rd Nikkei Asia Prize 2018 in the Science and Technology category, at a ceremony in Tokyo, Japan on June 13, becoming the first Vietnamese to be honored with the prize in this area.
