Vietnam ranked first in Group A after a goalless draw with Thailand on February 21. Earlier, the Vietnamese team beat the Philippines 2-1 in the opener and defeated Timor-Leste 4-0 in the second match.

Meanwhile, Indonesia beat hosts Cambodia 2-0 in the last round of matches of Group B on February 22, winning the final spot to the semi-finals.
