An Ha commune’s RCS Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Xuan fuels humanitarian work
In recent 5 years, the communal RCS has mobilized 500 million VND (21,570 USD) to support needy households in Bac Giang province and other localities.
Particularly, Nguyen Nhu Thanh (born in 1986) in hamlet 10, An Ha commune faces very hard living conditions. Xuan and other members of the communal RCS called for the units, organizations and kindhearted people to donate Thanh with some 146 million VND (6,300 USD).

In response to the movement “Each organization or individual attaches to a humanitarian address”, Xuan took initiative to establish the Love Connection Club in November 2017 to present 100 meals to poor patients in Lang Giang district’s General Hospital twice a month.
The RCS’s first aid and emergency service station was established in 2013. As a group leader, she and other members timely provided first aid to tens of traffic accidents helping the victims to prevent secondary injuries and reduce treatment expenses.
In 2013, Xuan encountered a traffic accident when she lost one leg and needed blood transfusion. After the accident, she more acknowledges meaning of her work which motivates her to tell others about importance of first aid at traffic accidents and blood donation to save people.
With practical good deeds, responsibilities and simple thought “one more blood donor will save at least one life”, Xuan and other members have proactively mobilized people to join voluntary blood donation.
The number of blood units mobilized by the communal RCS exceeds the annual targets. She herself has taken part in voluntary blood donation for 9 times. The model of “Blood bank” was established in 2012 and promoted its efficiency.
Thanks to her great efforts in many years, Chairwoman of An Ha communal Red Cross Society was rewarded certificate of merit in humanitarian work. Since 2015, Xuan has been granted certificate of merit by Vietnam Red Cross Society for her outstanding achievements in blood donation campaigns and the RCS’s activities. Recently, she has been awarded certificate of merit by the Vietnam RCR Central Committee for her achievements in the patriotic emulation movement during the 2015-2020 period.
