Art programme sings praise for liberation and reunification

An outdoor art programme was staged in front of Ho Chi Minh City Opera House on April 26 to mark the 44th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975-2019).

The programme entertained the audience with songs and dances praising the aspiration for independence, freedom and peace of the Vietnamese people as well as their fighting spirit and sacrifice for national construction and defence.

In the evening of the same day, the Ho Chi Minh City’s authorities hosted a meeting with more than 70 retired generals and military officers who are living in the city.

At the function, Politburo member and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh municipal Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan briefed the delegates on the city’s situation regarding economics, culture, society, defence and social security in the first quarter of 2019 as well as the difficulties currently facing the city’s authorities.

He called for opinions and comments from the retired generals and military officers in order to successfully realise the city’s development goals and tasks.
