Bac Giang agricultural tourism brings double effectiveness
BAC GIANG – To tap the available advantages, many households and cooperatives in the Northern province of Bac Giang have invested in effectively exploiting agricultural tourism. This is considered one of the directions to create more value for agricultural products and a trend of the future agricultural economy. The agricultural tourism not only promotes product consumption but also contributes to increasing economic efficiency on the same area of production land.
At the end of 2024 and the beginning of this year, many gardeners in Luc Ngan district and Chu township welcomed several groups of visitors coming to experience the countryside space and buy fruit products right in the garden.

On an area of 10 hectares of oranges and grapefruits grown in an organic, environmentally friendly direction, Thanh Hai Agricultural Production and Tourism Trade Cooperative in Thanh Hai ward (Chu township) has invested in renovating the landscape of the garden, arranging reception points, camping services, processing local cuisine to attract more visitors.
In addition to exploring the fruit-laden gardens, visitors can freely take photos and harvest fruits, buy products in the garden as well as visit cultural, spiritual and ecological tourist attractions in the area such as: Cam Son Lake, Khuon Than Lake, Bac Hoa ancient village (Luc Ngan); Am Vai Pagoda, Bau Tien tourist site, traditional noodle village (Chu township)...
"In 2024, the cooperative welcomed about 10,000 domestic and foreign tourists. This tourism model helped us increase our income by about 300 million VND, creating jobs for many workers," said Nguyen Van Huu, Director of Thanh Hai Agricultural Production and Tourism Trade Cooperative.
The development of ecotourism combined with agriculture in Bac Giang in recent times has brought about "double" efficiency. By applying organic farming techniques, effectively exploiting scientific and technological resources, creating beautiful, environmentally friendly garden landscapes and infusing them with many interesting stories, Bac Giang agriculture has earned more value.
For example, in Ven village, Xuan Luong commune (Yen The district), people have applied organic tea cultivation methods. As a result, tea productivity and quality have been improved, leading to higher selling prices.
In particular, large tea hills also create an attractive ecological space, attracting tens of thousands of tourists to visit, relax and experience each year. Tourism services are formed right in this area, helping increase income for people.
In the province, many ecological agricultural models combined with tourism have been formed with high efficiency, attracting many tourists to visit and buy products right in the garden such as at clean vegetable and flower farms in Bac Giang city; pineapple growing areas in Bao Son commune (Luc Nam); Danh mountain ginseng growing area (Tan Yen); lychee, orange, grapefruit, plum, jujube growing areas (Luc Ngan, Chu township); Yen Tu yellow apricot (Son Dong); grapes (Tan Yen, Viet Yen, Hiep Hoa)...

With a large area of fruit trees (about 50,000 hectares), diverse crops and livestock, Bac Giang is assessed to have great potential for developing ecological agricultural tourism.
Currently, the province has 33 community tourism and rural tourism spots with 250 households participating in activities, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
Based on potential and strengths, the province has identified priority to focus on building and developing 4 key tourism products including: Culture - spirituality; ecology - resort; entertainment and recreation associated with sports; community tourism associated with fruit tree areas, rural agriculture.
