Than The Cong (Bac Giang) nominated for Outstanding Young Vietnamese Face
BAC GIANG - 19 individuals were nominated for the "Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces" award, including Than The Cong, a former student of Bac Giang High School for the Gifted (currently a student of Hanoi University of Science and Technology), who won the Gold Medal at the 2024 International Physics Olympiad (IPhO).
The Central Youth Union and the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund announced on February 20 a list of 19 nominees for "Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces".

The award aims to honor young people under 35 years old, with outstanding achievements in 9 fields of study, scientific research, production labor, start-up business, national defense, security and order, sports, culture and arts and social activities.
The Organizing Committee selected from 159 nominations of 55 units nationwide, based on achievements, impact and social inspiration.
The organizers said they are opening an online voting round, expected to last 15 days, from February 20 to March 6. After that, the council will select 10 "Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces" and "Promising Young Vietnamese Faces" in 2024. The award ceremony is expected to take place in March in Hanoi.
The "Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces" award has been held for the past 28 years, honoring nearly 560 individuals. Many of them have since made positive contributions to their units, communities and the country. They have become prestigious leaders in the political system, successful businessmen and outstanding citizens.
BAC GIANG – Vietnam ranked second out of the 89 participating countries and territories at the 56th International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), taking place from July 21-30 in Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Education and Training has announced.
BAC GIANG - According to information from the Ministry of Education and Training on July 28, the Vietnamese national team won 2 Gold Medals and 3 Silver Medals at the 2024 International Physics Olympiad (IPhO).
BAC GIANG - On August 2, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province organized a meeting to commend and reward 3 students of Bac Giang High School for the Gifted who have just won Gold Medals in Physics and Chemistry at the 2024 International Olympiad, including: Than The Cong and Truong Phi Hung (both won the Gold Medal in Physics); Giap Vu Son Ha (Gold Medal in Chemistry) as well as award Certificates of Merit to two outstanding teachers.
BAC GIANG - On the afternoon of July 31, the Ministry of Education and Training organized a reception for a delegation of students participating in the 56th International Chemistry Olympiad in 2024 returning from Saudi Arabia. All the four Vietnamese students won medals, with three gold and one silver. Vietnam ranked second out of the 89 participating countries and territories.
Vietnam will send its strongest masters to compete for team titles at the 45th Chess Olympiad 2024 September 10-23 in Budapest, Hungary.
