Bac Giang and Bac Ninh to build new traffic routes

BAC GIANG - Implementing the Memorandum of Understanding inked between the Standing Committees of the provincial Party Committee in Bac Giang and Bac Ninh Provinces, the Department of Transport of two provinces on the afternoon of August 17 held an event in Bac Ninh city to sign a cooperative agreement on transportation development in 2022-2025 period.

The delegates discussed and agreed to closely coordinate and implement a number of contents related to the field of transportation in 2022 -2025 period and the following years.

Regarding roads, in addition to the existing routes, in the coming years, two provinces plan to construct provincial road 398B of Bac Giang province connecting to provincial road 277B of Bac Ninh province via Ha Bac bridge 2; provincial road 298B (crossing Ha Bac bridge 1) connecting to provincial road 296B (crossing Cau river at two points in Mai Dinh commune, Hiep Hoa district and Tam Giang commune, Yen Phong district).

Regarding inland waterways, Bac Giang province has implemented several ports in line with the planning, including: 7 general ports; 2 specialized ports and 1 passenger port. Bac Ninh province has implemented 4 ports as the planning, including: Dong Xuyen, Dap Cau, Cung Kiem and Phu Luong.

The two departments will chair and coordinate with other departments, sectors and localities to finalize the programme to build a traffic work connecting Mai Dinh commune, Hiep Hoa district with Tam Giang commune, Yen Phong district; Quang Chau commune, Viet Yen district with Kim Chan ward, Bac Ninh city as well as plan locations to build bridges over Cau River which helps link Viet Yen urban area with Bac Ninh city.

Besides, two departments will agree on the starting time, construction and investment plans for Ha Bac Bridge 1 and the route connecting Viet Yen district to Bac Ninh city then report to the People's Committees of the two provinces to put the project into the public investment plan in October 2023 so as to allocate investment capital and commence the project in 2024.
