Bac Giang club wins at 2020 National Badminton Tourney

(BGO) – After 5 competition days (June 10 - 14), the National Badminton Tourney 2020 for the Clubs in the provinces, cities and sectors across the nation held at Bac Giang provincial Sports Competition Hall (the South urban area in Bac Giang city) closed with 17 sets of medals presented to the delegations.

Bac Giang Club excellently won 14 medals, including 7 golds, 3 silvers and 4 bronzes to rank first in the medal tally. The runner up was Dong Nai Club with 2 golds, 2 silvers and 1 bronze which was followed by Lam Dong Club with 2 golds, 1 silver and 6 bronzes.

The National Badminton Tourney 2020 for the Clubs in the provinces, cities and sectors across the country to compete Thanh Cong Cup drew 27 clubs with more than 200 athletes.

4 clubs in Bac Giang joined the event, namely Bac Giang Club, Ngo Si Lien Club, Lang Giang Club and Ba sao (Three star) Club with 30 players.

The athletes competed in various categories of men’s singles, women’s single, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles in 5 different age groups ranging from less than 30 years old, 31 – 40 years old, 41 – 45 years old, 46 – 50 years old and 51 – 55 years old.

The tourney provided clubs with chances for meeting, experience exchanging and sharing as well as enhancing the solidarity toward mutual development.

(BGO) - The National Badminton Championship for the Middle-Aged and Old Players took place from 12 to 18 September in Da Lat city, the Central Highland province of Lam Dong by the  General Department of Sports, Vietnam Association of the Elderly, Vietnam National Olympic Committee and Vietnam Badminton Federation.
Vu Thi Trang creates Vietnamese badminton history
(BGO) – The Bac Giang born player Vu Thi Trang (world No 74) on August 20 made big surprise at the Badminton World Championship 2019 held in the Switzerland after defeating No.15 seed Line Kjaersfeldt of Denmark (world No 17) to secure the ticket to third round of the women’s singles.
